Santa Came!!!

For christmas this year corey and I bought a fooseball table from my parents and hid it in the laundry room for 2 months.  Christmas eve we were up until 2 am putting it together and then playing it.  The kids were so excited for it.  We also got a karaoke machine and when they first saw it they didn't know what it was.  After getting it going Alexa was unstoppable.  Kindy's favorite song was "who let the dogs out".  Alexa is acually very good at fooseball, she can put a spin on the ball that impresses Corey!  Taylor likes to sing to anything Taylor swift, she even did a dance at the school talent show to one of her songs.  Bens favorite toy was his small basketball hoop.  He likes to dunk the ball using a chair from my kitchen.  We had a great chritmas and spent all day playing fooseball and other games.  Gradma and grandpa Barnes came over f or a little bit to say hi, and the Chases came over for diner.  The kids about burst our eardrums with the karaoke machine and the adults did a great job breading in the fooseball table.

Sugar! Sugar! and More Sugar!!!!!

The kids each got their own box of cereal for christmas.  I figured it was better than filling their stocking with all kinds of chocolate and other stuff.  Also, the eat cereal faster and the box does say it has some good stuff in it.  Bring on the high fructose corn syrup!1

christmas eve

We started a new family tradition this year. Every christmas eve the kids will get a new ornament to hang on the tree.  Corey and I realized how bare our tree was when we put it up.  I remembered that last year my little nieces and nephews enjoyed hearing the sound of the ornaments breaking on my hard wood floor.  This year Alexa got a cowgirl to remind her of the year she started guitar lessons, Taylor got a dancing cow to remember her dance class (no reference to the cow), Ben got a soccer ornament and kindy's was a lolipop, cause she likes candy!!  And everytime I go to the bank she begs for a sucker.

merry christmas 2010

We had a chili bar for diner and it was all really good.  Zac made a chicken white chili and nate made a regular type chili then I made pork chili.  We all ate lots of food.  Santa came for the kids and the tearing open of presents took 20 min.  Mindy, Kim, and I opened up our present and we weren't sure what it was.  After many attempts and lots of laughs we figured out how to put on our wierd blanket/snuggli thingy.  It is very warm but don;t try to run in it!!  I knocked kim over!!!

Kindy's 4th birthday

Kindy had a How To Train Your Dragon party!  We make helmets and sheilds and everyone had a sword.  After eating a treat of dragon egg nests, we headed downstairs to play dragon slayers while each kid took a turn being the dragon.  We watched the movie together and half way through ended up sword fighting.  The kids had loads of fun.

We've Got Spirit, How about you!

Whahoo crazy!!!  Crazy hair day at school is always lots of fun at our house.  Yes, that is a hanger in alexa's hair with clothing on it!!

Go Bengals!!

Talk about a large group of kids!!!  Even though we were loud, it was not enough to help ISU win!  Porter and Alexa watched the football game pretty good, while Taylor and Hayden drew and played some little games.  Ben and Tara were obviously bored by half time and running around, and of course there was never any hope for Kindy and Savanah.  All in all we all enjoyed ourselves and hope next year we may get to cheer for a winning team.

Happy halloween

Halloween was suprisingly not freezing cold this year.  We enjoyed our potluck as always and the kids got way too much candy.  Kindy was a kitty one day and then a monkey the next.  She could not make up her mind so she changed between her many parties.  All of my kids searached their bags at the end of tick or treating to give me any mary jane candies, but no one had any!!  The girls always save their mary janes from activity days when the get one and give it to me.  Corey and I had an ISU football game to go to on the 31st, but we made it back in time for Corey to take them around his mom's neighborhood and load them up with more sugar!!
